Manden with William Allen White Author

On Saturday, October 5th, Sunset's librarian, Mrs. Lidgett, and Sunset 5th grader, Manden, had the opportunity to attend the William Allen White award ceremony in Emporia, Kansas with other USD305 elementary students.

Manden and Mrs. Lidgett got the opportunity to meet the winning authors, get books autographed, hear the acceptance speeches, tour William Allen White's house, and play at Peter Pan Park.

The White family donated the land to Emporia many years ago to develop as a park.
