PTA
Sunset Elementary Parent-Teacher Association
The Sunset Elementary Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is a collaborative organization made up of parents, teachers, and school staff, working together to support and enhance the educational experience of students. The Sunset PTA plays a vital role in building strong relationships between families and schools, encouraging communication, and organizing events and activities that foster community spirit. It often raises funds to provide resources, sponsor programs, and experiences that students may not get otherwise. Through volunteer efforts and active involvement, the PTA helps create a positive and inclusive school environment where every child can thrive!

PTA Events
Each year PTA hosts several events that our Sunset families have the opportunity to participate in. These include, but are not limited to: Bingo Nights, Elf Shelf during the Frosty Festival, and Family Fun Night.
PTA also partners with various restaurants around Salina for Dine and Donate nights where restaurants donate a portion of all sales during the event back to Sunset PTA. Some restaurants include Martinelli's, Gambino's, Taco Johns, and more!
Throughout the school year, PTA raises money in other ways as well. During the 2024-2025 school year, they sold smelly pens and pencils and put together a change collecting competition for students to participate in.

How does PTA Support Students and Staff?PTA uses funds raised from different events to fund many items and experiences for students and staff. This includes funding field trips, purchasing items for use in the classroom such as indoor recess materials, rewards, and materials for fun events like gingerbread house making!
Each year PTA generously helps provide meals for staff during long conference days as well as showing appreciation during Teacher Appreciation Week.
